July 2, 2010 will be a special celebration at Mountain Grove, Missouri. The community, through the Chamber of Commerce has arranged to combine two major events into one — the celebration of our country’s independence and the celebration of the communities roots in the Ozarks and in Country Music.
The program this year features Joe Nichols who has roots in the Ozarks and the country where his fans will be coming from.
A steadily rising celebrity in Country Music, Nichols brings heart to heart topics to his music. Topics that the listeners can relate to in a positive and sometimes comedic way. The sound must be working because the man has had 3 number one songs in a very short time. The record is even more impressive when you look closer. Billboard Hot Country Songs has listed FORTY of Nichols’ songs, with the three making it to Number One and five others that were in the Top Ten. Planners for the Kickin’ Country Event have watched the rise of the latest song, “Gimme That Girl”.
Jason Plummer, another Ozarks talented voice will be opening for Nichols at Kickin Country Weekend.
